FEELING STORIES
Wellbeing and Mental Health Storytelling
Ever wondered how Jack felt about selling his best friend, Cow? What Elmer knows about being himself, or why we’re happier when we’re allowed to be a Weirdo? Would your class benefit from discussing fear and depression through exploring and acting out Black Dog, or learning about self-esteem and how to work for a better world through The Tin Forest?
Our Feeling Stories workshops take well-known children’s stories and focus on key aspects of mental health and wellbeing that are inherent within the texts. We use age-appropriate stories and work with imagination, play, performance and storytelling to explore wellbeing and mental health in creative ways.
We work to select stories that are a good match for both the age and needs of your class. We’d love to have a discussion about what you’d like to explore – from friendship and tolerance, to self-acceptance of our own emotions.
