YOUNG
writers
We’re really excited to be setting up a brand new group for young writers. The group will be run by Artistic Director Chris, and all members of the maxis groups can audition to join. The first session will be happening 6–8pm on Tuesday 12th November at our office at Northlight Arts Centre. Just like all our other groups – it will be pay-what-you-can and we will be able to support travel. It’s a group where you’ll have space and time to work on your own writing, learn story structure, poetic techniques, character creation, share feedback with each other, develop your work and create pieces together.
If you’re interested, we’d like to see some of your writing. This could be any kind of writing –— poetry, plays, film scripts, stories, lyrics – the important thing is that it’s something you’re proud of, and something that represents you and your voice.
YOUNG
producers
Our Young Producers youth leadership scheme enables young people at risk of becoming NEET to develop skills and experience across theatre; in producing, directing, design and technical roles. Currently made up of ten youth theatre members aged 13–16, from across all three communities, the group come together to take part in masterclasses with professionals from comparable backgrounds to their own, visit arts and culture venues across the city, and contribute to Brave Words professional productions.
